Who Was Rachel Corrie
Rachel Corrie was raised in Olympia, WA. As a teen-ager, she wondered what would be her calling in life, where would she fit in and make her mark. Rachel kept a diary and later set down her thoughts in her email messages to family and friends.
Until she was killed. In Gaza. In 2003, while volunteering with international peace activists in the city of Rafah to stop house demolitions, carried out by the Israel Defense Forces. She was run over by a military bulldozer, and because she was an American, the event was (briefly) covered by the US media.
