About JVPNH

Jewish Voice for Peace is a national, grassroots organization inspired by Jewish tradition to work for a just and lasting peace according to principles of human rights, equality, and international law for all the people of Israel and Palestine. JVP has over 500,000 online supporters, chapters in many cities and universities, a Rabbinic Council, an Artist Council, an Academic Advisory Council, and an Advisory Board made up of leading U.S. intellectuals and artists.

We are JVPNH, the New Haven chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace. JVPNH stands firmly and fiercely for Justice. We stand solidly with all people who are denied their human rights and sovereignty – whether to land, water, home, health, body, voice or vote.

We are Jews and non-Jews, folks of all ages and backgrounds. And we are committed to name and fight fascist hate, violence, and apartheid, policy or privilege, by any government or institution, foreign or domestic, Israeli or American.

While JVPNH embraces the values of truth and nonviolence, we know there can be no Peace without Justice. When disenfranchised people who have been terrorized and marginalized over generations choose to defend themselves – whether by boycotts, sanctions or stones – we respect their right to protest and protect their dignity and their resources. This is true for Native Americans, for African Americans, for Palestinians, for Indigenous Peoples the world over. Our fight against antisemitism is part of the fight against all racism. We join our voice loud and clear with these people-powered struggles to strengthen and protect democracy.
