Petition – End New Haven Police Exchanges With Israel

In July 2018, New Haven sent its police chief on a delegation to Israel, ostensibly to learn about counter-terrorism techniques. But Israeli armed forces, including the military and police, have a well-documented history of violence and grave human rights abuses, particularly in the areas of racial profiling, surveillance, mistreatment of prisoners, suppression of social movements, and divisive “us vs. them” thinking. I strongly oppose teaching New Haven police forces to use such oppressive methods against us and our neighbors. By signing this petition, I urge you to ensure that New Haven police and other personnel do not participate any further in these exchanges. New Haven must #StopTheDeadlyExchange.
