Can I Sell You an Existential Threat?
Last week, in his State of the Union address, President Obama declared the US was nearing an agreement with Iran over nuclear weapons. Some members of the Senate, from both parties, have been itching to vote now on sanctions against Iran if the final agreement is not to their liking. But threatening future sanctions now would likely result in Iran quitting the negotiations; Obama urged Congress to wait and examine the agreement before making threats.
